Case Study – 80 Charlotte Street

A SMART WAY FORWARD FOR ARUP AT 80 CHARLOTTE STREET

The refurbished 80 Charlotte Street development offers London the first major hybrid workplace post-pandemic. This nine-storey development also boasts net zero operational carbon to support environmental goals in the City of London.

Trusol worked closely with the team at Arup, who themselves have taken three floors within this prestigious 40,000 m2 building, to design and integrate a smart enabled converged network for these office floor plates into Arup’s neighbouring 13 Fitzroy Street network.

The converged network solution comprising fibre optic backbone cabling with Category 6A connectivity from Leviton, provides nearly 1,500 data ports in this state-of-the-art smart building.

Cisco Catalyst multi-gig switches and Wi-Fi 6 access points provide the bandwidth, reliability, management and security needed to support the extensive range of smart building devices such as BEMS, people counters, BLE devices, lighting sensors, access control and CCTV.

The project was successfully completed and handed over in 2021.
